Weeks after the conclusion of the 2026 Varsity League, the tournament remains a memorable showcase of university sports, with teams competing for championship titles in handball, volleyball, basketball and football. The competition crowned champions in seven categories, highlighting the talent, determination and teamwork of student-athletes from different universities.
The University of Rwanda (UR) Huye Campus enjoyed a remarkable success in handball, winning both the women's and men's championships. In the women's competition, UR Huye finished first, while UR Rukara took second place. In the men's category, UR Huye claimed the title ahead of INES Ruhengeri, with the University of Kigali finishing third.
In women's volleyball, RP Kigali emerged as champions, followed by UR Remera in second place and Busogo College in third. The men's volleyball title was won by East Africa Christian College (EACC), while UR Huye finished as runners-up and UTAB secured third place.
East African University Rwanda (EAUR) won the women's basketball championship, with RP Huye finishing second and Kibogora Polytechnic taking third place. In the men's competition, RP Huye claimed the title ahead of UR Nyarugenge, while UTAB finished third.
In men's football, Mount Kigali University was crowned champion after finishing ahead of EAUR Kigali, which took second place. EAUR Nyagatare completed the podium in third place
